Domino, the Fuzziest Boy in the World

This week's spotlight is Domino:. the Fuzziest Boy in the World. Domi has extremely soft fur, the loudest purr I've ever heard, and loves to cuddle.

He has two modes: cuddle and attack. He switches from one to the other without warning. He runs into life head-on, full speed ahead.

He is fascinated with my shoes. (Midi is too, but not as strongly).  He's claimed my sandals, and has been known to wrestle with one.

He and Midi both still hang out in the window a lot, but the new hammock on the other room is popular, too. (I hope this will make up for their disappointment when I have to close my windows.) I have a second one I'll put in their favorite window later.

After a wild time playing, Domi has been known to fall asleep in some odd positions.

They're growing fast; my postal scale isn't fond of weighing squirmy kitties, but Domi is up to 5 lbs and Midi's about 4.25 lbs. (Midi was just under 3 lbs. and Domi was about 3.25 lbs. when I got them.  They have a vet appointment next week; we'll get an official weight then.)

Oh, and Midi finally caught some flies; then she ate them!

Keep purring!

Midnight, Mighty Hunter

Kitty spotlight: Midnight, the Mighty Hunter.

Midi LOVES hanging out in the window.  (She'll be disappointed to find out that I usually keep all the windows closed, but my AC needs recharged.) The living room window has a nice, wide sill, so both she and Domi can hang out together.

Midi is a thinker. You can watch her figuring out how to do something, like get on the mantle. (She did this once; fortunately nothing broke. I'm trying to convince her to stop.)

Both kitties, but especially Midi are fascinated by bugs outside the window screen. They haven't figured out that they can't catch them on the other side.

On a couple of occasions, a fly has gotten into the house. Midi actually caught them a couple of times, but they got away when her claws got caught in the screen.

Midi is fierce when stalking her prey, be it fly or stuffed mouse.   I've seen some spectacular jumps when chasing the mouse on her "fishing pole".  Action shots, however, are difficult.

When Midi wants attention, she can get very affectionate.  Her purr is almost as loud as Domi's, and she can't sit still because she wants petted everywhere at once.  She's fond of a good rump scratch, and if she's mellow enough (rare but wonderful), a belly rub.  We've had several good cuddle & nap sessions.
She also has the cutest little meow when she wants fed.

Domi will get the next feature, but here's a quick glimpse of him:

Till next time, keep purring!

DNA Tests

Back in 2024, I had the opportunity to get a free DNA test for Domi from Basepaws.  Technically, he's part of the "healthy cat coh...
